Primates utilize the brain more than any animal, so the monkey exercises stimulate the Pai Hue (Bai Hui) meridian  point. This point is called DU20 (GV 20) the "Hundred Convergences" because it is the meeting point of DU (the Governing Vessel) with the Bladder, Gallbladder, Sanjiao and Liver Channels, Point of Sea of Marrow. It is located at the top of the cranium on the mid-point of the connecting the two apex. Pacifies yang; Raises yang and counters prolepses; Benefits the head and sense organs; Nourishes the sea of marrow; Benefits the brain and calms the spirit.

Monkey represents YIN. Sound is "wu....". Palms utilized are beaked and two finger monkey fists. Breathing is made through exaggerated pursed lips.
